We want to support and acknowledge moms. Each of you is making a difference whether you are a stay at home mom, working mom, or volunteer mom. When you become a mom, it is often easy to forget the side of you that is also a woman who may have had a career, hobbies and education before you became a parent. As a mom we spend our days multi-tasking and juggling. We are now the CEO of our households. Our job description includes diapers, dishes, carpooling, and an endless amount of laundry. Overnight you go from being a woman with style to someone who is happy to just get a shower. Being a mom is wonderful but it is also important to have a sense of yourself outside of your family.
This page is for you. Give us feedback on what you would like to see by emailing us. Check back often because this page will change monthly. Submit a mom to info@arlingtonparent.com so that we can recognize her.

Meet Grand Prairie Mom, Candice McClellin. Look closely at your ArlingtonParent.com e-newsletters this month for something she is giving away.
"The Will of God will never take you where the Spirit of God can not work through you." I feel that no matter where you are, there is always an opportunity for God to work through you. Sometimes it is just about the little things in life that can make someone see His love.
My father has taught me to be wise in my decisions through life and I desire for him to be proud of what I have accomplished. My children are such a great inspiration for me, I aspire everyday to be a great mother and teacher for them and that they will grow up to be strong in their faith. Last, but certainly not least, Jesus Christ is the apple of my eye. One day I pray to see His smile, then I will know everything I put into life was more than worth it.
More than anything, I hope that my children will grow up to be strong in the Lord and that they will in return contribute positively to those around them.
As a business owner, we would love to measure success by the number in our bank account. The truth is that real success is finding your happiness, whatever that may be.
3 wonderful kids! They really are great and I am proud to be called their mom. I have to second that by my fourth child, Sno-To-Go. I took a concept and made it my own. I have watered it with love and kindness and my rewards are customers who return time after time and refer others. That is the biggest compliment any business can get!
The day I realized my father was proud of me. He is not easy to please by anyone's standards. This was a warm day in my heart.
Everyone knows that just being a mom is a lot of work. Being a working mom is even a bigger feat. Working with your kids in toe sometimes make you pull your hair out. There are days where I wish I could call in, but then I realize I am the boss and the employee... I better get up and get going!
I would love to take my family on a trip around the world, sight-seeing at all the marvelous places we have studied about in history. That would be amazing!
Does running around in circles trying to get everything on your to-do list count? I don't exercise much, but I like to take walks with the kids and go hiking at the Mountain Creek Nature Preserve.
They would probably be surprised to know that I can understand and speak a good deal of Spanish.
I was born in Dallas and spent some time as a child in both Maryland and Arizona. When we moved back to the DFW area I lived in Oak Cliff and Duncanville.
My sibling history is very interesting. While I have no true brothers and sisters, I do have 4 half sisters and 2 half brothers. At one point in my life, when both my father and mother were married to other spouses, I also had 7 step brothers and sisters. None however were my age, I was the baby of the families and always an only child. Told you it was interesting. :)
My first job was at Los Lupes Restaurant in Duncanville. I started out as hostess, then a waitress and cashier, but soon became the assistant to the owner. Sounds fun, but I pretty much paid all the bills and did payroll. Being stuck in an office alone definitely does not fit my personality!
I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, never knew that would mean I would teach my own children.
Genghis Grill in Highlands - its neat to pick your own food and watch them cook it.
I love America's Best Coffee off Matlock and I-20. Great environment and awesome coffee.
My CD player hosts a number of different tunes. I love country and Christian music, but I LOVE talk radio and usually choose that if the kids don't complain too much.
I love The Story of Us, a great marriage movie. Check it out if you haven't seen it.
I don't have a lot of time for tv, but I record and find time to watch Survivor, Biggest Loser and American Idol. A reality TV junkie I guess.
Retreat? Sounds great.. sign me up! This past Fall I was able to get away for the weekend and spend some time with like minded moms, it was great I sure wish I could do that more often. My mini-retreats are shopping with no kids or watching tv when everyone has gone to bed.
I just read Potatoes Not Prozac, a great book on sugar sensitivity.
Eating out. Being so busy we often hit up a restaurant or drive-thru. Not a healthy choice, but most indulgences aren't healthy.
As sad as it is so say it, the TV. It can be a great distraction when you need to get something done.
Staying in bed in comfy PJs, ordering in food and just relaxing with nothing to do.
Financially we needed something to help keep us afloat. As the daughter to an entrepreneur, I guess the desire to something on my own was there. I wanted to do something that I could work with my kids, being away from them wasn't an option for me.
Having to make decisions about how to spend your time. As a business owner you want to please everyone, but I have learned that I also need to make time for my family.
Each month we feature a mom making a difference in our community. We want to acknowledge working moms and stay at home moms. Suggest a mom by emailing us.
