The W.A.T.E.R. (Water Awareness Through Education & Recreation) Festival at River Legacy Living Science Center aims to promote water awareness through family fun activities, games and demonstrations. Participants will walk away with an appreciation for the water around them and how they can do their part to protect and conserve this precious resource. Ongoing activities include The Incredible Journey, H2O challenge, Invertebrate Investigations, Pond Sampling, Water Music, Water Color Painting, Fish Printing and More. |

Join this 5K fun run for women to promote fitness in 2010. Bring your friends, and come celebrate your jiggle! The race start and finish will be at the Maverick Athletic Center (MAC) on the UTA campus in Arlington , Texas.
Packet Pick-up is at The Runner on January 6-8th between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. The Runner is located at 3535 W. Pioneer Parkway (Hwy. 303) in Arlington, Texas, between Bowen and Park Springs Blvd.

President Thomas Jefferson once called Alexander von Humboldt "the most important scientist whom I have met." The University of Texas at Arlington Library Special Collections commemorates the 150th anniversary of the death of Alexander von Humboldt. Exhibit include rare manuscript copy of Humboldt's map of New Spain, and printed views depicting the valley of the Humboldt River in Nevada and the German settlement of New Braunfels in Texas.
Hours are Monday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00pm.

Held over by popular demand, the interactive The Science of Spying exhibit gives eager spy-wannabes of all ages an opportunity to experience the latest spy gadgets and techniques - including remote-control spy planes, night-vision goggles, biometric scanning, infiltrating computer systems and the dolphin spy camera. They also learn how to detect liars, crack safes and find hidden clues. Visitors begin to find out about the plans of the shadowy organization OSTECK, follow the clues to uncover the secret location of its HQ and then escape using their wits.
