Fun Q & A with our Spotlight Dad:

Personal:

What phrase or motto do you live by?

"We sought to know nothing among you but Jesus Christ and Him crucified."

Inspiration:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable..."

If you could teach your kids one thing and have it impact them, what would it be?

The means to maximizing joy is to glorify God the Father through the exaltation of His Son.

How do you measure success?

I don't. I will wait until I stand before God and allow the only objective, true and just One to measure and define success. Between now and then, I will humbly walk with Him and trust in His grace.

Greatest Accomplishment:

Having my heart broken at the graveside of a beloved friend or the beloved family member of a friend.

Proudest Moment:

Learning to ride a bicycle at age 6. I still remember my mom chasing behind me over and over again until I final figure it out.

Biggest Challenge:

My own sinful desires that are still battling the work of God's Holy Spirit in bringing about my complete sanctification.

Wildest Dream:

To have lived a life of absolute obscurity in this world and to live a life of absolute service of Christ where no man's praises matter and only the glory of God through Christ exalted is evident in my life. I know, its wild, but at least I can dream.

Sport/Exercise Program:

Basketball and swimming are my preference for excercise. I don't do it near enough.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I am even more boring than they realize.

Where did you grow up:

Austin, TX

How many siblings:

Three older brothers.

First Job:

Mowing lawns in the summers when I was thirteen.

Childhood Ambition:

Play professional basketball.

Favorites:

Favorite Local Restaurant:

Wingstop

Favorite Coffee Spot:

I don't really like hot drinks, but I will pick up a frap in the bottle from Wal-Mart for my caffine fix.

Favorite Soundtrack/song:

Momento Mori by Flyleaf as a compilation of songs.

Favorite Movie:

Band of Brothers

Favorite TV Show:

Don't have a TV, so I guess I would have to go to an old show from my childhood like The Andy Griffith Show

Retreat:

An national park, but my favorite is Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Last Book You Read:

Crazy Love by Francis Chan

Indulgence:

Alley Cat's for some bowling and Laser Tag.

Tell us about a product or item that you can't live without as a parent

A car.

Your Perfect Day:

Skiing with my family after a really good snow fall and then retiring to a nice fire.
